I am a big fan of NCIS, so thought I'd watch the LA version. It seemed to be coming together fairly well, realized that I'd have to get use to a different format. Realized that I could appreciate this version, but then you added 2 new characters which I have difficulty with. The new female who does the commputer work seems to be too young in personality, has a higher pitched voice, and comes across as being sort of "flaky". Also, not a necessary addition since you already have a man who does that job. He is good, realistic, and fits in well with the other characters. At times, it appears that you are trying to make the female somewhat like Abby on the original series - she cannot be duplicated, her character/personality are played superbly by the actress. As in real life, there are no 2 personalities alike. The other character in question is Deeks (sp?) Not quite as professional as the rest of the team. As for the original series, it is great. You can imagine how thrilled I was when a grandson got a part in one of the episodes and I got an inside view of some the actors in real life. All were very helpful, polite, and encouraging I understand. (My intention in writing this is just to give some input/opinion to the producer and writers. It does not have to be printed as a review for others to read)

I love NCIS simply because of Gibbs and Tony. Their interaction is the best part of the show for me, but I love the other characters too. But a show is more than its characters, and NCIS has a great storyline (although lately this Gibbs-centric show is getting too much) that sadly NCIS:LA does not have.
It looks like they want O'donnel to look cute and sexy and badass but the things that come out of his mouth are so stupid. They had to make "G" some kind of super friend of Gibbs with who had a lot adventures but really, when did they do that? They just used Gibbs because the writers know that we love that man so "G" would be liked too.The other characters seem to be taken from different shows and put together to try and make a show but until now is like there's not connection between them and the chemestry that exist between NCIS(Original) cast is enjoyable and notorious but here is like they're made of ice, they try, I know, but there's simply not connection. "G" does as he please and that other character is the typical black cop which is so cliche. I'm black and I don't go around talking like if I were a rapper and I don't wear as if I were a hip hop singer; I'm not saying this like a racism comment but Cool J is a great actor but the character needs a life defined not by typical stereotypes.
And the worst is that everything that happens in this show is so predictable, so cliche, so corny and so soap that it's like watching a parody of the real NCIS.
I know that NCIS:LA needs his own space and we can't pretend to watch this new agents acting like Gibbs, Tony, Ziva and McGee but why do they have to create characters that apart are great(in another show) but together make this show boring. And why Los Angeles? this city doesn't even have that much Naval activity and what happened with their IDs? And do they know what a dead body is? because last time they yelled clear and after 15 minutes saw a dead body. And are they undercover ALL the time? because "G" use ...

NCIS Los Angeles started out on the slow side but as the season continued it picked up more & more excitement and has become one of the hottest action shows along with NCIS. Some episodes are so excellent that they even surpass the thrill of the regular NCIS show. Kudos to the inspired & excellent writers of NCIS Los Angeles!
I wait all week long to see this great show.

Why don't your characters show NCIS badges? As a former MP in the Army we either carried a badge or had identification clothing on. Saying " Federal agents or NCIS" without proof is not protocall for any police office in street clothing. Your great TV series NCIS always showes ID. You sure they are written by the same person?

I love NCIS. I have been watching it from the begining. Mark Hermon is a great actor and all the other characters complement each other. A very diverse group yet creates Magic! What is going on with this new NCIS-LA???? Why do we need another NCIS-LA? No chemistry between the characters. I patiently waited and watched about 3.5 episodes (it was a torture).is there a shortage of beautiful and intelligent female actresses?

this "Spin-off" from the original will never make it in my book. The noise they might refer to as background music overwhelms the program and makes it 99% BORING.
I watched it tonight, 10-20-2009 and I doubt I will ever turn it on again.

I am a huge fan of NCIS but this was totally without chemistry of any kind. I was really hoping to find 3 hours of geed entertainment for Tues. night but will just live with the real NCIS and the Good Wife which was well done
I found it hardly believable when they drove to a seemingly deserted (secret) building only to find about a hundred agents who appear to be functioning inside Where do these people park their cars
This wasn't even bad enough to be funny

am a huge fan of NCIS. i saw the first episode of ncis: los angeles as an episode of ncis, and it apparently was the introductory episode. however, i was disappointed. i had hoped it would be more like ncis. maybe i shouldn't have. it has to be its own show. but the first thing i noticed was all the neat gadgets the new show has, and they are neat. but the first thing i thought was, why doesn't ncis have all these neat gadgets. i suddenly felt like my favorite show was becoming the ugly stepchild, not good enough for the cool gadgets. the second thing i noticed was the difference in character interactions. i love the way ncis characters fit together and interact. i was not at all impressed by the new characters, they did not mold together well to me. i also did not understand the purpose of the "psych" character. what, we need someone analyzing everyone's thoughts and actions? ducky profiles criminals, this other guy discusses people's thoughts and feelings. i don't see the point and did not like him at all. it reminded me of star trek: the next generation with Counselor Troi. i never saw the point of having a counselor on that show either. the leader of the show seemed to spend her time tiptoeing around Gibbs because she investigated him about the death of the man that murdered his wife and child and she seemed to think he was mad at her. if she has been protecting him all these years as was suggested, why did she tiptoe around so much. she should just have told him and that might have improved their relationship. well i will probably watch a few episodes to see if i change my mind, i would love to see another ncis show that is as good as the original, but that may be redundant and therefore impossible
