I give this 8/10. Totally what I expected going into it. People who didn't like the acting are not in touch with part of themselves I think. I would only have the ending changed, but that's just me. loved all the characters. knew the cgi might be corny, but it wasn't bad. Reviewers seem to be afraid to say they were entertained by a movie about a mythical creature. It was an improved updated version of a classic.

I enjoyed the movie very much. A tribute to the classic movies, with the stlye and look of the wolfman. Not overly exagerated , but scary non the less. I jumped at least 5 times at certain scenes. I loved the look of the film, beautiful sets and locations to the clear CGI look. With the different twist to the story line, I felt the update was good. The classics would be pleased. Too many times things are overdone. But this was just right. You can feel the characters aching w/tortured souls. From the storyline to the style of the film, you have a very good movie. You should get more praise. RichardP.

What a fun horror movie to watch! It was a great combination of old fashioned horror film "looks" with great new special effects. Of course it's not like the 1941 classic but it's also not like the newer over done super special effects movies that tend to get boring after the first 30 minutes. Great job!!

This movie was a beautiful period peice with a suprise ending. I was pleasantly suprised by the authentisity and beauty of the mansions and the town in that period of time. The mood brought about by the moors and there dark fog only added to the mystery. I went to see Avatar and Edge of Darkness first, then I saw Wolfman and Wolfman was better than the other two put together. If you like the old sci-fi horror flicks, you'll love Wolfman and if you don't see it in the theater, when it come to TV you'll wish you had!

I liked the movie, they stayed true to the old wolfman movies with Lon Chaney as Larry Talbot and the gypsies. I loved the transformed wolfman -( not like the one in the HP movie that looked like an alien) If you have nothing better to do it is worth the sit if you are a true old time Wolfman fan and dont expect the computer generated version. I gotta say I loved the great dane as the gaurd dog....

Went in with high hopes- expecting to be wowed by the all star cast and killer transformations... only to suffer through two hours of scattered clips, lacking any form of story- wishing I had enough silver bullets to put this beast out of its misery- Mind you, I didn't think this was going to be an award winner- but I did think I would be entertained-not so much. I spent more time wondering why/how the scenes made it to the final cut instead of enjoying any part of it. The acting was oddly terrible, and that made it really hard to be interested in their well being or even enjoy their demise. The interactions between characters was stiff and fake- holding no depth or real emotion... Too bad- this should have been a slam dunk. Total let down... Skip it in the theater- catch it on DVD and wash it down with your favorite wolfman classic to get the bad taste out of your mouth.

I just saw this and all I have to say is Im so glad I didnt spend any money! The acting of the main character del toro was utterly wooden and without anydepth of feeling or intensity.Good acting causes the viewer to care abt the character and good writing will draw you into the picture ,Neither were present here, even from hopkins, which is stunning to NOT see him act exquistly, how can he not? yet his acting is "weak and thin" as those are best descriptions to express both him and the lead actor.Only emily blunt and hugo weaving brought any acting to their roles. Now for the werewolf! You got to be kidding! what the heck kind of werewolf is this? which looks like something out of a 1950's movie, and he is wearing his suit and clothes as a werewolf! man, i am laughing at the script here, it just doesnt work, unless ur trying for campy and comedy.even the werewolf from "Being Human" is far and away more terrifying and shed their clothes as they morph. In closing, the most Thrilling werewolves I can recommend were those in the Underworld series, example: how abt the scene where Victor faces off with a huge one and is bold enough to not back down and grabs it by ITS throat? The Incredible werewolf transformations in Underworld 3 or the awesome werewolves seen yrs ago in the "Dogsoldiers" movies? Creepy and thrilling and most of all, they dont walk around in their dayclothes after transformation! geez!

Hello! Its the wolfman! What did you think you were going to see?? I thought the movie was great! Rick Baker pulled out all the stops with the special effects on this one, I dont think it was as good as American werewolf in London but very close. Dont let these people that bash this movie stop you from seeing it if you are looking for a killer werewolf movie with cool transformation from man to wolf, and want to see just a cool movie go watch it! If your looking for the next Titanic then go rent that movie this one will not win an oscar of course. I swear I dont get people that go to a movie and bash it were you blindfolded and drug in to see it?? I dont ever see a bad movie cause I go to the ones I know I will like and will entertaine me...

I liked the movie. Not the greatest werewolf movie ever made but it comes close. If you like old fashioned horror movies, like I do, you'll like this one. But, if you are too jaded by the newer werewolf movies, like the Howling series, or if your tastes run to the ones where there is lots of blood and gore, this one wont be to your liking. The scenes where it attackd its prey with lightening fast moves scared me more than they would if the director lingered over the attacks, showing every detail, every wound, every shredded bits of flesh and entrails scattered over the landscape. The acting, while not Oscar reward material, is more than upto the task for a movie of this type. The only jarring note is the character that Hugo Weaving plays. I,for one, have some knowledge about the real Inspecter Fredderic Abbeline so i was dumbfounded as to why they put him in there. Hugo Weaving is avery good actor but I picture him in more of a sci fi movie than a horror movie. All in all I liked the movie and see why noone else shouldn't like it either. At least thats my opinion

If you like classic werewolf movies like “The Curse of the Werewolf” from 1961 with Oliver Reed, you will appreciate this movie. Just the right special effects to add to the suspense and keep us interested with a good old fashion werewolf movie.

This movie was entertaining. Not the greatest, but it was good fun and surely well above tolerable levels. My date enjoyed the film as well. The acting was spot on by everyone, which is not always a given judging by the mass quantity of badly acted films of today. Unfortunately, I think the movie will receive some unfair criticism because people will try to compare the film to contemporary horror movies. This movie does not try to be a contemporary horror film but instead tries to take the viewers on a classic horror trill ride the likes of which haven't been seen in a very long time. The result is good fun, perfert for a date and a warm bag of popcorn. My only gripe is that the film would have been better during the Halloween time of year.
