I was pleasantly surprised to see what a fantastic job all the actors did as I was not really interested in seeing Miley Cyrus, thinking that she would act like her character on Hannah Montana. She was a credible actress and I loved her character. Kudos to her. The music score was appropriate and the movie had funny and sad parts. My wife bought the tickets and we learned that Miley Cyrus was in it after we got inside the theater. I thought we might be in for a kiddie movie tonight but was surprised. It was pretty well done. Kelly Preston and Greg Kinnear played in it and the story was appropriate and interesting. I was glad we saw it and I will recommend it to friends. No bad language or inappropriate scenes. Surprising for todays movies. Was surprised that Miley Cyrus was as good an actress as she was. It is a family show and any age would learn something from it. It does not have to be an academy award winning show to be good to watch. It is a decent show. Go see it. Was this review helpful? I agree with other reviewers that this movie belongs on the Lifetime channel, not on the big screen. Miley Cyrus was not a very good actress. There were times were the entire theater was laughing and times where you could tell everyone was crying...its a movie that takes you through a roller coaster of emotions. I don't get why the critics gave it only 2 stars, and I definitley don't think it should be the "last song". Miley Cyrus really proved she could withstand a more grown up role and she did it with such grace. She and Liam Hemsworth did a tremendous job of portraying Ronnie and Will. Although the movie made me cry so much it really does an amazing job of teaching life lessons. You learn not to take parents for granted and to not give up on your dreams or the people around you that you love. It is so rare these days to go to a movie and leave feeling good instead of depressed. I want family to be portrayed as a place of comfort instead of always being hostile and disfunctional.
