It was eye-opening. It really gave you a good picture of the bad environment this guy came from and more than that, it gives us hope. It is inspiring, because it reminds us of potential we all have. This guy had virtually nothing. With a little help, he went on to achieve stardom. I admire this film mainly because of it's message. However, I say it isn't for younger kids, mostly because of the fight scene which is close to the end of the movie. It may seem petty, but I was pretty unsettled when the baby got hurt. I know it was probably acted out so that it wasn't hurt, but it's still terrible to imagine. The rest of the movie was alright though. This movie is definitely a feat in and of itself. It was slow and nothing ever happens, it seems like one of those crappy movies that ABC family might put on or something made for kids on tv. your choices in material for your movies, to accomplish starting your own company, choices in your personal life and making serious comedy have all been in complete harmony with each other. Your back ground in life comes from your strong family upbringing, that has allowed you to laugh at your flops and appreciate your really good work, without becoming so Hollywood your head more than fits through the door. You now have your first golden man, your so capable of the second so you go girl, the good can just keep coming. My husband and I love your movies. This had an engaging story, characters you could like...and I hate football! Of course, I have a personal connection because I have a 19 year old troubled child I informally adopted and is now a member of our family so I feel like I am living The Blind Side except that I am not as rich or as religious (or as pretty) as Sandra Bullock. Possibly all males in this movie play dominated roles. Pardon me but...hoodgang verses mom?
But the wife shed a tear in this one. So this gets 4 stars.
Okay...I liked some parts of the movie too..although it was unconfortable to watch an entire movie of wimpyness related to football. But ..the little boy in this one gets the nod.
