Sign in 0 out of 0 users found this helpful  A slightly different takePosted: 4/6/2010A review of Green Zone by OTB9 On 3 separate occasions prior to the real-life invasion, I witnessed on national news broadcasts possible pre-war build-up by the president mentioning on all 3 occasions assasination attempts on his father's life. I said to myself, I bet we'll be invading Iraq before all is said and done. The rest is history in my opinion. I admit I don't remember if this was prior or post 9/11, but it was definitely prior to the actual invasion in 2003. Perhaps some news hounds can revisit this issue as an angle that has never been investigated. As for the movie, I didn't care for the harsh language, but I found it entertaining. You have to understand that this is NOT a documentary. And it doesn't hurt to suspend disbelief a little, which is commonplace with Hollywood movies these days. I mean, the timing of "Freddie" could not have been more perfect - what a concidence that they ran into him. My only real complaint is the overuse of the shaky camera thing. Nothing new, crushingly political, and horribly anti-American. Matt Damon is smarter than to have made such a mistake. They were just going the motions in this turkey. This is nothing but a Michael Moore war story, offensive in many ways (even to Bush Bashers), and very, very tired. A historical fiction should have some semblence of honesty of truth within it. Saddam used gas in 1988, http://hnn.us/articles/1242.html. The UN community knows this to be fact and do not dispute the facts. For you idiots, the US is not the only ones in the spy business. Saddam was constantly defying the UN inspections until someone had to call his bluff. These wepons are out there just like the jets uncovered, buried in the dessert. Unless the pose a threat, I hope they stay buried and become forgotten.

It is ridiculous how people just can not open their eyes and see what is happening. This movie give a possible explanation to what actually happened in Iraq. Where is the weapon of mass destruction people. Isn't it the reason why we went to Iraq in the first place. Our government is extremely corrupt and with their propaganda machine, they are able to control the little mind of the American people. Have you ever asked yourself why you have to go extremely out of your way to find out what is happening outside of your state line. The TV is censored, cameras are watching your every move, and a chip will be installed in the back of your head soon. Please just don't deny the facts that the movie gives and ENJOY the movie. I'm so dissapointed and angry at how this movie depicts the US and especially our soldiers. Apparently they think our Special Ops forces are a bunch of thugs that muscle and kill our own soldiers when they get in the way. Poor Saddam, poor Iraqi military, poor me!, for having to watch this crap.

The book the movie is based on was "non-fiction" but the screenplay that was taken from that is totally made up BS. Matt Damon is a great actor, but an idiot mouthpiece for the liberal machine. IF you go to this expecting Bourne, you will be VERY disappointed. There are two action parts in the whole movie. It spins a web of lies and fiction making America look like the bad guy. It goes against evidence presented by the UN and CIA that Iraq clearly had WMDs, used WMDs on its own people, and was sanctioned by the UN for the WMDs. The CIA briefed Bush and America there were WMDs. Clinton, Gore, Powell, everyone knew there were WMDs. Sadam was going to take Iraq into Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, jeopardizing American interests and killing millions of innocent people. Pro-OEF or Anti-OEF, doesn't matter. Just please don't be anti-AMERICA. This movie is anti-AMERICA. AND the camera work is the same jittery, jumpy; make you puke in your popcorn stuff we saw from this director in some of the Bourne work. Don't see this movie! Was this review helpful?
