I have noticed a growing number of people complaining about Tim Burtons use of Johnny Depp and Helena Bohnam Carter well I wanted to remind you of Frank Sinatra Dean Martin Sammy Davis etc and the Judd Nelson etc Brat Pack in the 80's and the the string of Ben Stiller Owen Wilson Vince Vaughn etc movies of recent the list goes on......

Well, where should I pick up? To begin with. This movie is not for the family, unless you do not mind seeing a mouse poke out a monsters eye(not censored), Alice chopping off a dragons head(again, not censored), and a whole lot of other stuff as well that is not sutable for kids, even though that the movie is rated PG. The movie is dark like all other Tim Burton's films. The story, I must say, is not that great. I expected more from Tim Burton. This was a let down to me. The acting is good though. So, it is up to you. if you're a die hard Tim Burton fan, go get it. if not, do not bother with it.

I was very apprehensive at first since the previous showed a very dull and silly movie, to the request of my wife and small daughter I closed my eyes and said yes! let's give a try and we were very surprise how entertaining the movie was, even my tween son enjoyed. Very Good Movie....

Tim Burton really went out of his way to make soort of a sequal to the classic Alice In Wonderland. I think he did a pretty fancrapintastic job and should get every single award there i sout there for this kind of film. Were ever there is Tim Burton you wont find Depp too far. I think that it was awesome and all movies should be directed by Tim Burton. WOW!! If you havent seen it you should go do that or miss a chance in a life time to see a awsome movue that remindsuyou of when you were a kid and your mom read you the original story!!!

The best adaptation of the "Alice in Wonderland" tale by far. Stunning visually, the story leaps out at you and pulls you into Alice's world. And, what a wonderful escape it is: taking us on a funny, rollicking journey to a touching place with which to stimulate our own imanaginations. Kids need this kind of stimulation to fuel their creative imaginations. Once again, I applaud Jonny Depp's selection in movie roles and how all of his characters take us on a delightful jouney! Forget what the critics may say, take your kids and yourself to the wonderful 3D experience. I may go again!

I walked away from this movie pleasantly surprised. Based on Tim Burton's past movies I was a skeptic. I was afraid to take my kids, but they persisted and we went. We all had an enjoyable time. It is Alice in Wonderland, it is not supposed to have this "DEEP" plot. Now anyone who can give "The Hot Tub Time Machine" four stars and Alice in Wonderland - one star, we are not on the same page.

I have loved Tim Burton's movies, but I have grown tired of them. Helena Bonham Carter + Johnny Depp...yeah, I get it. Tim Burton's movies also are very Eurocentric. I think the only time I saw a person of color was when one was an Oompa Loompa in Willy Wonka. There's no great plot to this movie. The visuals and graphics of the movie were stunning. But with no plot, it's just eye candy. Also, any movie that shows an ending based on colonization is ehhh at best. I'm sure India might not feel there happy ending was the start of trade with England. Remember the salt tax? Gandhi? I think I may not be seeing other Tim Burton movies in the future unless he changes the formula.

Posted: 3/18/2010A review of Alice in Wonderland by omarali85
I wonder what was going into people's minds when they said this was a great film. I thought it *#$@ed, and didn't have too much of the good parts. What plagued this movie was a daffy-looking Alice being made to be engaged, and Alice not remembering her main adventures. In fact, she was scared that she might be going insane. Now, what’s contradicting is that the cartoon Alice looked excited about the whole ordeal... even though the Red Queen did want to behead her in the cartoon, as we remembered. She was even older, between the two implicit ages in this new film, it seems. And, wouldn’t you know it? The Mad Hatter proved to be a lot smarter, and helpful, than his original self. I’m shocked, really! But, is this necessary? I thought the Hatter’s as useless as a mule, according to the original story itself. Why is the Red Queen short-looking, with a large apple for a head? Surely, I thought the Red Queen would have been as strict and ugly as Alice’s would-be mother-in-law. Any why would Alice go on killing a chatter-box for a dragon, if the Red Queen even needed one? And even the fun parts of this film didn’t last for long and, worse, got plagued by a nonsense ending of Alice calling her engagement quit before it could even start, heading to China… and doing a bad imitation of MJ’s moonwalk. The directing and animation were awesome, but I don’t think Alice’s original author would have been pleased, if he were alive. If Disney ever wanted to make a sequel, with Alice going on a real battle against the Red Queen, and helping out the White Queen, they should have brought back the cartoon characters, and put them in the official sequel of Wonderland, “Alice through the Looking Glass”. I’d been waiting for this title since when I was a teenager.

What a fun movie! I felt like I was a kid again - like I was actually there. I thought of nothing else the whole time - it totally captured me! The critics and anyone else who didn't like it probably don't have an imagination, don't have any friends, never ever laugh at anything and live pathetic, miserable lives. Poor U!!! hahahaha

Well i bet all of the Alice in Wonderland fans were very surprised to see this movie. I being one went with my boyfriend & seeing that i guess me & him were both looking at eachother saying its a sequal? Of course the preview for it made it look like Tim Burtons version of the famouse book & Disney movie. But nope sweeites its a sequal. Personally i loved it i thought it was a great movie, but i also see that not alot of that not alot of the critics like it. Why i may ask maby because they were suspecting it to be like the Disney 1950s one. But come on its Tim Burton. All im going to say is if your a fan of Alice in Wonderland in general GO SEE IT. its a grreaaaaat movie. but if you have young ones between the ages of 3-6 maby you shouldnt take them to see it they might get scared because there is some scary monsters but overall i think preeteens & mostly teenagers will love this movie. -lauren dee.

I almost didn't go to see 'Alice' because I felt so ripped off by 'Avatar' and the critical word was so lame. My sister called and raved so I went and was amazed and delighted by this Alice and everything about it. I was transported and loved all the characters. Each element was so well crafted and nothing was labored over. I have to see it again to catch all the details. I appreciate the story since Alice is my favorite from childhood and I thank Tim Burton for being so judicious with (for example)Depp's dance and the battle scenes as well as the ending: in other hands these sequences would have been overdone and over-long. You will be immersed and left wanting more. Sis is right: see this!

Let me start by saying I have never seen the cartoon, "Alice in Wonderland." So I went to this movie with not a clue of what to expect, only hoping to score some quality Johnny Depp time. I got that, plus much more. This movie was refreshingly unique as far as the characters and landscape. It was an adventure for the imagination and definately worth watching. I did see the 3D version and I also recommend this especially if you have kids. I must say, 3D effects have come a long, long way since I was a child. It was more fun to watch the movie with the kids sitting next to me, seeing them jumping and giggling at the effects was an added bonus. So if you have any sense of imagination and curiosity whatsoever, I would venture to say you will like this movie. However, if fantasy worlds with talking animals do not amuse you, then dont waste your time because you will probably find the movie as boring as you are.

I thought it was toally amazing, really. The effects were AWESOME and I thought the plot was good. Johnny Depp did amazing...he totally changed the character of the Mad Hatter from one that was silly to one that was slightly tormented, helpless, and brilliant. I just wanted to give him a big hug!! There wasn't one moment that I thought about anything besides Wonderland while I watched it, it was like I was really there. And then after I left I couldn't stop thinking about it. I definitely recommend it. Totally awesome =) It was a little different from other Tim Burton movies because it didn't have that underlying meaning that you can find in Edward Scissorhands and Nightmare Before Christmas but I know that I will definitely go see it again...and again...and again...and then buy it when it comes out =) LOVED it!!!

Alice in Wonderland was an "wonderful" movie, it keept me on my toes the whole time. I saw the March Hare, Mad Hatter, Red Queen, and so many more characters that were great. The critics have no scence of imagination to say the movie was bad. To really understand the beauty and magisty of the movie you have to have a real imagination. Anyone with an imagination will love this movie.
